In the 80’s after a huge storm there was buildup of seaweed. The maintenance man cleared the mess up by piling sand on top, creating these large mounds!

Encinitas in N San Diego was temporarily closed off to motor-vehicle access along a portion of Coast Highway 101 to allow cyclists, pedestrians and other non-motorized travelers to enjoy the roadway without cars. FUN, FUN, FUN! There were sooooo many more people this year than past years. LOVED seeing kids reminding their parents how much fun riding bikes together can be...

Newly renovated and re-dubbed as the Mission Bay Beach Club, the iconic Mission Bay Visitors Information Center has returned to its original purpose as a gathering space for locals and tourists with the opening of an all-vegan coffee shop called Superbloom, a gift shop with lots more to come...
We weren't sure if the lovely Bird Lady would return after the remodel of the Hotel del Coronado - but she did! On our Coronado Bike Tour today even got to talk to her and learn her name as well as today's hawk's name! They did a great job keeping the seagulls away from those dining outside...
